SpecTerra Services develop multispectral sensors specifically designed for vegetation monitoring, with sensors operated across Australia from locally based light aircraft. Our operators acquire imagery for V3 Maps at the start of veraison. The data is then rapidly processed to classify vine canopy material (no inter-row cover crop, weed or soil material) and perform a vigour analysis using a well-known spectral vegetation index known as Plant Cell Density (PCD).
V3 Maps is an online service provided by SpecTerra Services to order vineyard vigour maps, based on airborne multispectral imagery.
The output for vineyard managers is a bundle of practical map and data products for printing to take to the field and to use on your PC with GIS or vineyard management software.
SpecTerra has been providing airborne multispectral data for precision viticulture in Australia since 2001. We now operate in all major vine growing regions across Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain and Portugal.
